LOS ANGELES, November 15, 2006 – Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Kythera”) today announced the appointment of Keith Klein as general counsel.
Klein will be responsible for all legal aspects of Kythera’s business. Prior to joining Kythera, Klein spent more than 15 years in Amgen’s law department where he ultimately served as senior associate general counsel, responsible for legal activities relating to the areas of sales and marketing, federal government affairs, corporate relationships, manufacturing, product supply and product development. Before Amgen, Klein was a corporate associate at Cooley Godward Castro Huddleson & Tatum, where he advised companies on protection of trade secrets, intellectual property rights, negotiation of technology licenses and transfers, and represented both issuers and investors in public offerings, mergers and acquisitions.

Klein holds a law degree with honors from University of California, Davis and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from University of California, Los Angeles.
